Peru Kuntu from the South Moravian roastery QB Coffee Roasters is a coffee that envelops you from the very first sip. Smooth, naturally sweet, and beautifully balanced—exactly the kind you want to treat yourself to every morning. In the cup, it unfolds as a harmonious blend of rooibos and Brazil nut notes, complemented by the fruity sweetness of ripe persimmon. The result is a flavor profile that is calm yet intriguing and unusual—ideal for those seeking an espresso with finesse, elegance, and a long, warm finish. Simply a coffee you’ll want to come back to.
Behind this cup are approximately 300 small farmers united in the Aproeco Cooperative in the Moyobamba region of Peru. These growers farm in the hills of the mountain rainforest, often on small family farms where coffee is just one of many crops grown for sustenance. It is thanks to careful harvesting and rigorous quality control that the Kuntu microlot is created—consistent and pure in its expression. The coffee is grown in accordance with the principles of sustainable agriculture and is certified organic, so in addition to its great taste, you can also enjoy the satisfaction of knowing its origin. Every cup carries a piece of the story of the people who grew it with care. The Pache variety, typical of this region, contributes to the coffee’s smoothness and rounded flavor profile.
The coffee is processed using the traditional washed method, which highlights its purity, clarity, and elegant structure. This allows both the nutty tones and the subtle fruitiness to shine through without overpowering one another. Furthermore, cultivation at an altitude of 1,300–1,750 meters above sea level adds complexity and balance to the beans thanks to the long ripening period of the coffee cherries.
