  •  Peru LA RINCONADA GEISHA - Cup of Excellence #20

Coffee from the La Rinconada farm ranked an impressive 20th in the Cup of Excellence competition. The farm is owned by Roberto Carlos Palomino Flores, who has been growing the Geisha variety since 2018, with the first harvest taking place in 2020. The coffee is processed using the anaerobic washed method, where the ripest cherries are rested, passed through a pulper, fermented for 48 hours, then washed and dried for 14 to 16 days. This processing method gives the coffee its typically clean flavor profile with higher acidity and distinctive fruity notes.

  • Prodigal Coffee Peru LA LIMA GEISHA - Cup of Excellence #21

La Lima is a farm whose coffee ranked 21st in the Cup of Excellence competition and is the latest competition offering from Prodigal Coffee. The one-hectare farm, surrounded by fruit and shade trees, is managed by Jorge, his wife Teresa, and another family member, who grow cherries of Panamanian origin. This coffee underwent a double fermentation process. First, the coffee was fermented in cherries for 72 hours. After hulling, it underwent another 96 hours of fermentation. After washing, the coffee was slowly dried for 22-25 days, resulting in a clean flavor profile with higher acidity and pronounced fruity notes.
