The fourth edition of the Panamanian Geshi Auromar from Friedhats Roasters is here! This coffee has a delicate, clean, and elegantly fresh profile. The flavor profile features lime leaf, jasmine, and white peach, which together create a light, juicy cup. Lime leaf brings a fresh citrus note to the coffee, jasmine adds a delicate floral aroma, and white peach rounds out the entire profile with a sweeter, fruity note. Thanks to its omni roast, you can enjoy it both in a filter brew and as a modern espresso.
The coffee comes from Panama, specifically the Candela area in the Chiriquí region. Roberto Brenes is behind its production, and the lot consists of the Gesha variety. Gesha was introduced to Panama in the 1960s as a variety resistant to coffee rust, but it didn’t gain much traction among farmers for a long time due to its demanding cultivation, low yields, and sensitivity during processing. The coffee trees grow at elevations ranging from 1,570 to 1,770 meters, so this coffee comes from a relatively wide altitude range. The combination of Panamanian origin, the Gesha variety, and a fresh flavor profile gives this coffee a delicate and distinct character. Goldkind handles the export of this coffee.
Processing is carried out using the traditional washed method. With this method, after harvest , the skin and pulp are removed from the cherries, and the beans are then washed and dried. The washed process generally helps preserve the coffee’s clean and precise flavor profile, as it limits prolonged contact between the beans and the pulp. For this Panamanian Geshi, this method complements its light and elegant profile, allowing individual flavor notes to remain clearly distinguishable.
