This Kenyan filter coffee from People Possessiondelivers exactly what its name promises—berries in their purest and juiciest form. The minimalist can, free of visual clutter, lets the main thing stand out: a distinctive, fruity flavor with a typical Kenyan character. Expect an explosion of forest fruits, juicy blackcurrants, ripe raspberries, and a sweet hint of blueberries, combined with a lively but elegant acidity. In the filter, this coffee is energetic, intense, and yet beautifully clear—no excessive wildness, just pure, confident fruitiness.

Behind the People Possession project are two enthusiasts who decided to seek out coffees with a distinctive profile and not let them get lost in the uniformity of the market. Their philosophy is simple: less visual clutter, more real flavor. They focus on careful selection of lots, a modern approach to drying, and very precise roasting, which aims to highlight the natural character of each coffee. Essential Standards is their "minimal range" – a basic line that is anything but ordinary. Specifically, this coffee comes from Kenya, from the Kamavindi Estate, run by Peter Mbature. The SL-28 variety is an icon of Kenyan production and is known for its distinctive acidity, complex fruitiness, and long finish. Cultivation in the Kamavindi Village area and consistent work on the farm provide the basis for a cup with a clear structure and distinctive aroma.

Processing is done using the natural method, which is less common in Kenya than the washed process. The whole cherries are dried with the pulp, which transfers more sweetness and a denser fruity character to the beans. The result is a profile that combines the typical Kenyan berry intensity with a fuller body and a slight jammy touch. In a V60, Kalita, or batch brew, it opens up beautifully into a juicy, aromatic, and long-lasting cup. If you love Kenyan coffees and want to experience them in a slightly different, more natural way, BERRIES from People Possession is exactly the can you want to open.
