Colombia Los Patios, roasted by the unique Manhattan Coffee Roasters, is a coffee that immediately captures your attention with its captivating flavor. In the cup, you’ll find a distinctly fruity profile of sweet melon, juicy grapefruit, and a playful candy note reminiscent of Fruittella purple candies. It feels juicy, sweet, and very intense, yet retains its clarity and distinctiveness. If you enjoy experimental coffees that stand out from the crowd, this is exactly what you’re looking for.
Behind this lot is the Los Patios project in Colombia’s Huila region, which functions as both a modern processing station and an experimental center. It was established under The Coffee Quest as a response to the challenges faced by local farmers. The project is led on-site by The Coffee Quest team, specifically Alexis Silva and Alberto Gutierrez, who focus on developing new, repeatable processes and improving the quality of coffee grown throughout the region. In collaboration with local farmers, they test new methods and push the boundaries of coffee processing.
What makes this Castillo variety coffee truly special is the experimental fermentation with the addition of melon concentrate. During this controlled process, the coffee absorbs intense fruity notes that are subsequently reflected in the final cup. This is followed by precise drying, which helps preserve the purity of flavors and stability. The result is a filter coffee that is bold, aromatic, and beautifully structured—ideal for moments when you want to taste something truly different.
