Beansmith.s Roastery presents a new, delicious espresso blend, this time from Colombia. It is a blend of very small, high-quality lots that would be difficult to sell on their own due to their limited quantities, but together they create something exceptional. The flavor profile of this coffee is built on juicy acidity and sweetness. In the cup, you’ll find notes reminiscent of forest fruits and sweet caramel, all accompanied by aromatic hints of cardamom. The flavor profile of the espresso is balanced and complex. From the very first sip, the coffee is lively, distinct, and has a pleasant aftertaste.
Behind the Las Chicas project stands the Chicas Industry initiative, which was born out of a passion for specialty coffee and personal relationships directly at the source. Tereza and Karolína have been active in the specialty coffee scene since 2014, but the pivotal moment came in 2018 when they traveled together to Latin America. During their trip, they visited numerous farms and established direct relationships with producers. One of the farmers, Ana Gloria Rodriguez, referred to them at the time as colleagues rather than importers, and it was from this idea that Chicas Industry was born. Las Chicas is thus not just a blend, but a collaboration among multiple female producers whose coffees together create a balanced and consistent whole.
The individual components of the blend are processed using various methods, including washed, natural, or honey processing. These methods differ in the amount of pulp left on the bean and the drying method. Each method adds a different layer to the final result, ranging from clarity and acidity to sweetness and body. The ratio in the blend is set so that the flavor remains stable and distinct over time, regardless of the harvest. Beansmith’s Roastery also works with fresh harvests and ensures that the coffee moves quickly from roasting to the end customer—which is why you can enjoy its full potential in every cup.
