Introducing Rwanda Santa Claude festive coffee from Round Hill Roastery in the UK. Thanks to its purity, elegance, complexity, and subtle spiciness, it will immediately become one of your favorite winter cups. The flavor harmoniously blends the sweet fluffiness of Christmas stollen, juicy notes of poached pears, and spicy warmth with hints of allspice. The result is a coffee that offers not only gourmet pleasure, but also moments of peace and joy, whether you drink it at home with your family or at work on a cold morning.
The coffee originates in the Karongi region in western Rwanda, where several generations of farmers have been growing coffee for generations. The beans are harvested by small farmers, and at the heart of the story is the family-run Gitesi washing station, founded in 2005 by father and son Alexis and Aime Gahizimi. The station has become a model for community-oriented and sustainable production, from supporting farmers to training in organic farming to unique social programs. As a result, not only the quality of the coffee is improving, but also the strength of the entire community involved in its production.
This coffee is processed with precision and respect for nature. Hand-picked Red Bourbon cherries are first carefully sorted and then processed using the traditional washed method. Under the leadership of Aime, who has a technical background in engineering, modern water management facilities were built and the station also obtained Rainforest Alliance certification. After fermentation and thorough washing, the coffee is slowly dried for up to 15 days on raised African beds, where it acquires its bright, lively, and balanced flavor. Every sip is proof of careful work, respect for the environment, and a true passion for quality coffee.
