Rwanda Kabyiniro Natural from Slovakia’s Diamond’s Roastery is a coffee that will immediately captivate you with its juiciness and lively character. From the very first sip, you’ll experience pronounced fruitiness, sweetness, and gentle acidity, which come together in perfect harmony. The flavor features fruity notes of strawberries and blackberries, perfectly complemented by the sweetness of caramel and honey. Notes of orange then add a subtle acidity. The body is fuller, round, and beautifully smooth, giving the coffee a pleasantly juicy mouthfeel and a long finish. If you’re looking for something more distinctive that will delight you from the first to the last cup, you’ve come to the right place.
Behind this coffee is the Kabyiniro washing station in the Ngororero region of Rwanda, which collaborates with local smallholder farmers from the surrounding hills. The region is known for its ideal conditions for growing coffee—high altitudes of up to 1,950 meters above sea level, fertile volcanic soil, and a stable climate give rise to beans with a distinct and clean flavor profile. Farmers here often work on small plots, and harvesting is done by hand with a focus on selecting only fully ripe cherries. Thanks to this meticulous care and good organization at the station, lots are produced that consistently surprise with their quality and consistency.
The coffee consists of typical Rwandan Bourbon varieties, prized for their sweetness and complexity. Processing is done using the natural method, i.e., drying whole coffee cherries on African beds. During this process, the coffee acquires its characteristic fruitiness, fuller body, and more pronounced sweetness. Drying is carefully monitored to preserve the purity of the flavor and prevent unwanted notes. The result is a cup that beautifully showcases the potential of Rwandan coffees in their full, sweet, and fruity form.
