Delicate vanilla, sweet dried pears, and chocolate fondant. That's exactly what India Tiger Hills tastes like – a coffee that takes you on a journey to the heart of the Indian jungle. The first sip reveals an elegant sweetness with a hint of fruit, followed by a smooth body and a velvety finish reminiscent of praline. It's not just a cup of espresso. It's an experience that combines quality with a story. Whether you prepare it on a lever espresso machine or in your home coffee maker, every cup will reveal the precise work of the farmers, the gentle processing, and a flavor that you will never tire of. For lovers of sweeter tones and balanced acidity, this coffee is an absolute must-have.
Behind this coffee are Shreedev and Sushmita, a married couple who are continuing their family's coffee-growing tradition in its third generation on the Hulikere farm. Their home is Chikkamagalur – the green heart of the Western Ghats, one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The farm is surrounded by rainforest and, thanks to polyculture farming, banana trees, pepper plants and other crops grow alongside the coffee trees, contributing to the natural balance. Every day, you can see colorful birds, butterflies, or even small mammals hiding in the shade of the leaves. In addition, Shreedev and Sushmita actively collaborate with KaadKaapi, an organization that supports wildlife conservation in the Bhadra Tiger Reserve, home to tigers, leopards, and elephants.
India Tiger Hills is processed using a washed method, which further enhances its clean and elegant flavor profile. After harvesting the ripe cherries, they undergo an 18-hour dry fermentation, during which the temperature and humidity are carefully controlled. This ensures that the resulting coffee remains complex yet harmonious. Drying takes place slowly and naturally in the shade for 11 days, which protects the beans from overheating and allows them to mature evenly. This gentle approach not only enhances the quality of the resulting espresso, but also reflects the farm's overall approach – respect for nature, patience, and attention to detail.
