This coffee made its way to us all the way from Guatemala via the Irish roastery Carrow Coffee Roasters. The flavor profile features a pleasantly smooth and buttery character, blending notes of chocolate pralines, juicy cranberries, and sweet maple syrup. The chocolate notes give the coffee a pleasant body, the cranberries add a light fruitiness, and the maple syrup beautifully rounds out the entire cup.

The beans come from Guatemala, specifically the Concepción Huista region in the Huehuetenango area, which locals refer to simply as “Huehue.” Here, coffee is grown by farmers affiliated with the CODECH organization. Coffee trees grow here at altitudes of 1,400–2,200 meters above sea level—ideal conditions that give the cherries plenty of time to develop their flavor and ripen fully. Combined with abundant water sources and limestone-rich soil, it’s a true paradise for coffee trees. The lot features a decent selection of varietiesBourbon, Catimor, Caturra, Maragogype, and Pache. Together, they create perfect harmony with a distinctive sweetness and balance that you’ll thoroughly enjoy.

The beans were processed using the classic washed method. This helps highlight the coffee’s clean and balanced character and allows its natural flavor profile to shine through. The coffee is also certified organic and Fairtrade. Farmers from CODECH grow it using organic methods, without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.
