Ethiopia ARBEGONA WX from the Coffea Circulor roastery is an exceptional Ethiopian coffee that perfectly demonstrates why Ethiopia ranks among the world’s most renowned coffee-producing countries. From the very first sip, it captivates with fresh notes of apricot and lemon, which gradually blend with the sweetness of bergamot, mandarin, and delicate caramel toffee. The aftertaste beautifully unfolds with notes of Earl Grey and an additional layer of mandarin freshness, giving the cup a light, juicy, and exceptionally elegant character. Moderate citrus acidity adds energy to the coffee, while its light body and perfectly balanced profile allow its purity and complexity to shine through.
This lot comes from the Arbegona area in Ethiopia’s Sidama region, where some of Africa’s most interesting coffees are grown at an altitude of around 2,300 meters above sea level. The producers are Eliyas Dukamo and Atikilt Dejene, who run Elto Coffee and have long focused on producing top-tier specialty lots. The high altitude, cooler climate, and slow ripening of the coffee cherries give the 74158 variety ample time to develop pronounced sweetness, rich aromatics, and elegant citrus acidity. The result is a lot with a cupping score of 90 points that perfectly represents the character of the Sidama region.
The coffee was processed using the washed method, which is the traditional Ethiopian method for processing the highest-quality lots. After careful hand-picking, the cherries are pulped, then fermented, washed with clean water, and finally slowly dried on African raised beds. This process allows the pure expression of the variety and terroir to shine through and highlights delicate floral, citrus, and tea notes. It is a beautiful example of modern Ethiopian coffee—fresh, elegant, and perfectly balanced, with a long finish that invites you to take another sip.
