This Costa Rican washed Geisha from Prodigal Coffee is like summer fruit in a cup – the clearly discernible taste of juicy cherries combines with the delicate sweetness of warm mead and finishes with the freshness of red apples picked straight from the tree. Each sip is light yet rich, as if transporting you to the mountain slopes of Dota, where the cool morning air mixes with the scent of flowers and sun-warmed soil. It is a coffee that captivates not only with its precise purity, but also with its delicate interplay of flavors that gradually opens up and invites you to take another sip.
The coffee bears the name of its home farm, Finca Copey, and is the result of the work of the team at Café Solis & Cordero, who bring their personal touch to every bean. Their enthusiasm and care are not just empty words – this year they took first place in the Experimental category at the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition. But this success is not just about the award, it is a confirmation of their determination to seek new paths while honoring tradition. For them, each harvest is a story in which the courage to try the unknown meets respect for the soil and plants that make it all possible.
Behind the project are husband and wife Ivan Solis and Alejandra Cordero, who founded their own brand in 2018 and show how deep tradition can be combined with a modern approach. Finca Copey is located at an altitude of 2,000 meters in the Copey de Dota mountains, where a unique microclimate prevails. Thanks to this, varieties such as Geisha and Catuaí thrive here, resulting in exceptional coffees that will not leave you indifferent.
