Colombia Potosí from the French roaster Tanat Coffee is a coffee that will win you over with its very first aroma. Tanat has long focused on top-quality micro-lots from around the world and roasts them to bring out their natural flavors as best as possible. This Colombian Sidra is beautifully fruity, sweet, and elegant all at once. In the cup, you’ll find notes of wild cherries, red plums, blackberries, and chocolate. It also features a juicy acidity reminiscent of red wine, a creamy body, and a long, sweet aftertaste. If you like more pronounced fruity coffees but don’t want them to be overly acidic, you’ll feel right at home with this one.

The coffee comes from the iconic Potosí farm in Colombia’s Valle del Cauca region, specifically from the Caicedonia area. Production is handled by Café Granja La Esperanza, a family-run business with a tradition dating back to 1945, which ranks among the world’s most respected producers of specialty coffee. The farm is located at an elevation of 1,400–1,860 meters and is known for its constant search for new varieties and experimentation with processing methods. This coffee is of the Sidra variety, which stands out for its distinctive aroma, high sweetness, and complex fruity character. The result is a clean, balanced, and truly memorable cup.

The Natural processing method gives this coffee its characteristic fruitiness and fuller body. After harvest, the cherries are not de-pulped but dried whole, allowing the bean to absorb sugars and aromatic compounds from the pulp during the drying process. Thanks to the combination of an exceptional variety, precise processing, and the farmers’ expertise, this coffee beautifully demonstrates why Granja La Esperanza ranks among the world’s best.
