Sydrip Colombia Peñas Blancas is a small drip bag packed with a generous dose of tropical vibes. In the cup, sweet mango, papaya, juicy pineapple, and ripe banana gradually unfold, complemented by a delicate chocolate aftertaste. The result is a distinctive and playful coffee full of sweetness that resembles a fruit dessert and can brighten up your morning or make your afternoon break more enjoyable.
The coffee comes from the Peñas Blancas farm and processing center, located in the Acevedo area of Colombia’s Huila region. At an elevation of around 1, 650 meters, the Caturra and Castillo varieties are grown here. Led by producers Nestor Lasso and Jhon Vergara, the project brings together local growers and helps them improve the quality of their coffee through modern equipment, professional training, and joint processing oversight. As a result, farmers can market their harvest more consistently in the specialty coffee market.
Ripe coffee cherries are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before drying to ensure that only high-quality, uniformly ripe cherries are processed. The coffee is then processed using the natural method, in which the whole cherry, including the pulp, is dried on raised beds. During drying, the cherries are turned regularly, and temperature and humidity are carefully monitored. The controlled fermentation process enhances the coffee’s pronounced sweetness, fuller body, and intense fruitiness, allowing notes of tropical fruit, finished with a pleasant hint of chocolate, to fully shine in the cup.
