Colombia La Loma, from the Prague roastery Merrybeans, is a limited edition birthday blend that brings incredible intensity and playfulness to the cup. The aroma and taste will transport you to a world of ripe cherries, delicate coconut, and buttery cookies, which together create a truly original and entertaining profile. This coffee is processed using experimental methods, making every sip a little treat for your taste buds. It's perfect for filter coffee, but according to the roasters themselves, it's just as good in milk drinks, where its sweet notes really come into their own.
Behind La Loma is Colombian farmer Rodrigo Sánchez, with whom Merrybeans has been working for several years. To mark its second anniversary, Merrybeans has prepared a limited edition birthday blend, just like last year and hopefully next year too. Rodrigo is known for his precise approach and love of coffee, which can be felt in every bean. Fans of the roastery may remember his farm thanks to the popular Passionfruit coffee, and this year's La Loma selection proves that creativity and care can take coffee to a whole new level.
La Loma's special character comes from carbonic maceration: hand-picked cherries ferment in a carbon dioxide atmosphere and are then infused with red fruit, with microorganisms carrying out further fermentation. The entire process takes almost 190 hours and results in a coffee that is full of fruit, delicate coconut, and butter cookies, with remarkable depth and sweetness. This quantity is very limited, so each cup is truly unique and festive.
