Jaffa Cake by Sprout Coffee Roasters is an espresso that’s sure to surprise you. Expect notes of orange cake, chocolate, and juicy stone fruits in your cup. The flavor is full-bodied, round, and sweet, with a more pronounced body that pairs beautifully with both espresso and milk-based drinks. If you like espresso that’s rich, creamy, and has a slightly playful fruity note, this coffee is perfect for you.
The coffee comes from Colombia, specifically from the Finca Amigos farm in the Jardín area of theAntioquia region. Hassan Attia is behind the production, and the farm itself is located in a beautiful part of northwestern Colombia at an elevation of 1,741–1,950 meters above sea level. Finca Amigos spans 16 hectares, 12 of which are planted with coffee. It also serves as an experimental varietal farm for Cafe Export, so in addition to Java, other interesting varieties such as Laurina, Rume Sudan, Tabi, and Geisha are grown here. Part of the farm is set aside for forest conservation, and the producers have planted hundreds of native trees and plants to protect the local environment.
The variety is Java, and the processing method is fully washed. After selecting and sorting the ripe cherries, the coffee is hulled and then undergoes a 48-hour dry fermentation. It is then dried for 10–15 days on raised beds in the sun. It is precisely this washed processing that helps the coffee maintain its clarity, distinctness, and pleasant freshness. This translates beautifully into the flavor profile, featuring a chocolatey richness, sweet orange notes, and a lighter fruity finish. The result is an espresso that feels like a sweet dessert, yet remains elegant, clean, and balanced.
