About Jokes Aside Coffee Roasters
Jokes aside, this roaster does not mess with it and will serve you uncompromising quality coffee from all over the world in beautiful colorful bags. You may already know Jokes Aside without knowing it. This roastery located in Brno is the work of two amazing baristas - Kalliopa and Alan. It is Alan who manages the legendary Instagram @50percentarabica, where jokes definitely do not go astray, every true coffee lover will surely appreciate them.
The story of the roaster
Since 2018, Kalliopy has been running the great cafe FAINE COFFEE in the center of Brno. Alan has a lot of experience as a barista and roaster across big names like Rusty Nails, SKØG or Typika. In 2019, he founded the previously mentioned world-famous Instagram profile, where he shares jokes from the position of baristas and coffee enthusiasts. You may also know Alan from European Coffee Trip, a recognized capacity in the selection world.
In the spring of 2020, Kalli and Alan decided to use their extensive experience and contacts with coffee producers around the world and started roasting their own coffee under the Jokes Aside brand. They may have decided on this name because no one would believe the well-known joker of the roastery establishment, but when you taste their coffee, you will know that this roaster means business. Of course, the establishment of the roastery did not affect the production of jokes.
New espresso bar and courses for baristas
In Brněnské Židenice, you can find the wonderful cafe Stav with Espresso bar, which Jokes Aside recently founded. If you happen to be passing by, be sure to stop by - you might meet Alan or Kalli there and learn even more about their coffee.
Kalliopé and Alan do a lot of things - in addition to roasting and coffee shop operations, they also organize courses where they teach you everything from modern espresso preparation to latte art to proper cupping.
