Founded out of a desire for high-quality decaf coffee that wouldn't disappoint the taste buds, the roastery was established during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the founder, who was pregnant and breastfeeding at the time, began searching for an alternative to regular caffeinated coffee. Unsatisfied with the selection on the market, which often failed to meet her expectations, she decided to team up with her husband Lukas to focus on producing high-quality decaffeinated coffee that would not lose any of its flavor or aroma. This idea led to the creation of the "D stands for" brand, which aims to show that coffee can be much more than just caffeine— it is also a joy, a ritual, and a community affair.
