Founded in 2014, Crankhouse Coffee is a roastery and coffee shop based in Exeter, South West England. Focusing on quality and service in the world of coffee, he is constantly exploring the craft and science of coffee roasting. The roastery has grown and moved from its beginnings in a one-car garage, then a converted barn on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, to its current location in Exeter's West Quarter.

And because even this roaster is not indifferent to the future of the coffee world, they support organizations that are the driving force behind changes in the use of scientific knowledge and promotion at the highest level. The roastery is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association, World Coffee Research and the Alliance for Coffee Excellence, as well as One Percent for the Planet.

The coffee roasting style at this establishment is "omni" or "uni", meaning they don't roast coffee specifically for a particular brew, i.e. super light for filter or heavy for espresso. It could be said that most coffees are suitable for all preparation methods, while some are more suitable for one preparation method than another due to their origin, variety and processing method. Taste is subjective and what tastes good to the roasters at the roastery may not taste good to you at home. There's really only one way to find out, to brew your coffee and taste it.
