Beansmith's roastery brings you Mukuru Florals coffee from Uganda, which will pleasantly surprise you with its delicacy and fruity sweetness. The first taste welcomes you with the sweetness of ripe banana and exotic, slightly sour notes of juicy pomegranate. The overall impression is complemented by the delicacy of hazelnuts.
Mukuru Florals has its roots at the foot of Mount Elgon in the Mbale region of Uganda. At The Coffee Yard station, it is processed by Norman Mukuru and his team, who pay attention to precision and honest production and see coffee as a way to improve the lives of local communities. Collaboration with The Coffee Gardens project allows farmers to receive training, fair conditions, and long-term support. The coffee comes from the SL14, SL28, and Nyasaland varieties, which are grown here at an altitude of around 1,800–2,200 meters above sea level, where the cooler climate and rich volcanic soil give the beans exceptional sweetness, and the long ripening period allows the flavor profile to fully develop. Each cup is not only a taste experience, but also a little story about fair trade, humanity, and craftsmanship.
The coffee is processed using a natural method that highlights its fruity aroma and harmonious sweetness as well as its delicate body. The cherries first undergo 24-48 hours of fermentation, during which their flavor depth develops, and are then slowly dried for at least 21 days on raised African beds. The result is an elegant coffee that will win you over with its lightness and intensity at the same time.
