Panama Don Benjie from Tao Coffee is an elegant Geisha characterized by fresh, floral aromas and a light tropical sweetness. In the cup , mojito, jasmine, and white flower tea come together, complemented by the sweetness of tropical fruit, which gives the coffee a juicy and refreshing character. The profile is light, tea-like, and very clean, with gentle acidity and a long, floral finish. An ideal choice for drip brewing, where its complexity and the typical elegance of Panamanian Geisha truly shine.
The coffee comes from the Café Don Benjie Estate in the Bajo Mono area of the Boquete region, Chiriquí, at an elevation of 1,400–1,600 meters above sea level. The farm lies on the slopes of the Barú volcano, in a valley with access to the Caldera River and a unique microclimate created by a combination of volcanic soil, mountain mists, and tropical vegetation. The de Dianous family has been growing coffee here since 1914, and the current owners continue the tradition with an emphasis on quality and environmental conservation. The diversity of varieties on the farm—including Geisha—reflects their long-term commitment to working with the terroir’s potential and producing exceptional lots.
Processing is done using the washed method, which highlights the purity and clarity of the flavors. After selective hand-picking, the cherries are pulped and fermented to remove the pulp, then thoroughly washed and dried under controlled conditions. Thanks to this approach, the natural character of the Geisha variety and the terroir itself shines through—floral delicacy, citrus freshness, and a light tropical sweetness that together create a very clean and elegant cup.
