Full-bodied, energetic, and typically Kenyan – that's Kamavindi SL28 from Mazelab roasters. In the cup, it offers a distinctive combination of fresh gooseberry, ripe blackberry, white currant, and cane sweetness, which rounds everything off into a pleasant, delicate finish. This select coffee will delight anyone looking for distinctive fruity notes, bright acidity and high sweetness in a perfectly balanced ratio. It is a cup you will never forget – vibrant yet elegant, full of life yet sophisticated.
The coffee comes from the Kamavindi farm, which is managed by the Mbature family. The farm is located in the Embu region, at the foot of Mount Kenya, at an altitude of 1,680 meters above sea level. The family has long been dedicated exclusively to the SL28 variety, which is considered one of the highest quality Kenyan varieties. Its potential in the cup is extraordinary – it offers depth, complexity, and juiciness that are so typical of Kenyan coffees. The Mbature family emphasizes traditional but precise cultivation and processing methods, resulting in a coffee with an exceptionally clean flavor profile.
Processing is carried out using the traditional washed method, in which the coffee cherries undergo careful sorting, fermentation, and slow drying on African beds. This process contributes to the coffee's vibrant expression – it preserves the clarity of individual tones, highlights the fruity character, and delivers a crystal-clear result in every sip. Kamavindi SL28 is proof of why Kenyan washed coffees are considered some of the best in the world.
