A cup of Ethiopia Tagel Alamayehu from the Polish roastery Kaizen is like a window into the Guji Mountains, where every bean tells its own story. This light-roasted specialty coffee will enchant you with elegant notes of jasmine, sweet ripe apricot, and refreshing orange juice. Each sip blends lightness and sophistication, while the coffee retains its purity and delicate texture, making every brew a joy and a discovery. Get ready for a cup that will transport you to an exotic landscape and open up new horizons of flavor.

Behind this experience lies the Hambela Goro farm in the Guji region, in the Hambela Wamena area, situated at approximately 2,300 meters above sea level. Tagel Alamayehu, owner of the export company Olkai and station coordinator, carried on the family tradition and restored the infrastructure that his father built as one of the pioneers of coffee in Guji. Today, he works with more than 460 small-scale farmers, each of whom has only a few hundred coffee trees. The result is an extraordinary concentration of sugars and aromatic clarity that is reflected in every cup, while also supporting the local community and sustainable farming.

This coffee isprocessed using the washed method, with the care and precision that Kaizen upholds. Ripe cherries are hand-sorted and, after depulping, fermented in water for approximately 48 hours to develop delicate fruity and floral notes. This is followed by drying on African beds for 10–12 days, depending on the weather, which stabilizes the flavor and preserves the structure. The result is a cup with an elegant jasmine aroma, fresh citrus acidity, and sweet, ripe apricot, which is light yet complex and perfectly harmonious.
