About Vote Coffee Roastery

Vote Coffee Roastery is a German roastery from the capital itself - Berlin. The roastery was founded by Phillip Reichel, and since 2016,  together with Laurel Carmicheal, he has been making the world a happier place- one coffee at a time.

We are Philipp and Laurel. We run the Vote coffee roastery in the heart of Kreuzberg. Since June 2016 we have been roasting coffee in the premises of Kaffee9 under the roof of Markthalle Neun. We roast coffee for everyone. Our career began in the classic espresso culture and led us to the speciality world of coffee. We have experience in the areas of gastronomy, roasting, green coffee trading and events. We let all of this flow into our everyday work and want to tread a progressive path in the context of the coffee world.

Philipp Reichel, a native of Berlin, founded Kaffee9 in 2013 and ran it for 4 years. In addition to his work as the operator of the café, he also launched the Berlin coffee festival, which he curated from 2015 to 2019. He also opened the Café Isla Berlin, which was awarded for its concept, in 2016 together with Peter Duran. A café that is committed to the circular economy. Philipp is the founder and managing director of Vote.

Laurel Carmichael, originally from New Zealand, has gained experience in various roasting houses and cafés and brings this to the roastery. She is not only our moral compass in the roastery and the company, but also primarily responsible for purchasing green coffee and roasting.

I threw these beans in the bin because I didn't know the roaster and I enjoyed the profile according to the description. And I have to say, I've tried these nibs on the V60, Clever, and AeroPress and it's been fine every time. They are the kind of grains that won't blow you into the sky, but they are definitely nice and I can recommend them with confidence.
