Have you been craving a pleasantly sweet yet delicate espresso? Then it's time to remedy that. Don't miss the new Ethiopia ARICHA from the Prague roaster Merrybeans – a coffee that will caress your palate and delight you with every sip. Espresso made from this coffee is like a summer breeze: delicately acidic, beautifully sweet, and wonderfully balanced. The flavor combines juicy apricots with refreshing lime and a light touch of caramel, which adds depth and roundness to the whole taste. In short, it's a typical washed Ethiopian coffee that you can always rely on – clean, fresh, and with a perfectly clear profile.

This coffee grew in the famous Ethiopian region of Yirgacheffe, which is known for its ideal conditions for growing specialty coffee. Coffee trees grow here at altitudes of around 1,900 meters above sea level, where cooler nights and slower ripening give the beans their characteristic complex flavor profile. Local smallholders farm on small plots of land and often grow other crops alongside coffee to make the most efficient use of the soil. The entire process, from harvesting to sorting, is done mainly by hand, with an emphasis on care and quality. Thanks to this human approach, only the healthiest, perfectly ripe beans make it into your cup – without defects that automatic machines could easily overlook.

The beans are processed using the washed method. After harvesting, the partially shelled cherries are immersed in water tanks for 36–48 hours. During this time, fermentation takes place, removing the remaining pulp and releasing additional flavors directly into the coffee beans. The coffee beans are then dried for approximately 18 days. The washed method gives the final coffee beverage a clean flavor profile.

  • Altitude: 1,925–1,945 m above sea level
