The season for fresh Ecuadorian coffees continues, and among the most exciting new arrivals is Finca Meridiano—a farm that immediately won the hearts of the Prodigal Coffee team with its first lot . This Typica Mejorado coffee offers an experience that combines tropical freshness, subtle spiciness, and exceptional processing clarity. The result is a coffee with a rich, layered flavor that blends notes of ripe mango, grapefruit, and nutmeg. The sweetness of tropical fruit is harmoniously complemented by subtle spice, which adds depth and elegance to the cup. The texture is velvety smooth, with a long and balanced finish.

Finca Meridiano is located at the foot of the Western Andes, in the Quito region, where fertile volcanic soil and high altitude create ideal conditions for growing specialty coffee. The farm's owner, Mario Hervas, has been growing coffee for more than 15 years and his name regularly appears in competitions such as the Cup of Excellence, which testifies to his precision and dedication to his craft. Finca Meridiano represents the best that Ecuadorian coffee has to offer—purity, elegance, and unforgettable character. It is a coffee that celebrates craftsmanship, the terroir of the Andes, and a passion for detail—and one that you will want to return to again and again.

After being harvested by hand, the cherries undergo thorough washing and flotation selection, which ensures that only perfectly ripe fruits go on to further processing. This is followed by 24 hours of whole fermentation, then hulling and 48 hours of anaerobic fermentation in a closed, oxygen-free environment, which enhances the sweetness and fruity depth of the coffee. After washing and thorough draining, the coffee is dried in a greenhouse, where the temperature and humidity are controlled to preserve all the subtle flavor nuances.
