Espresso that hugs you like a warm blanket while surprising you with an unexpected flavor twist – that’s exactly what MONTERO FAMILY from the roastery Morgon delivers. Every cup blends the creamy sweetness of milk chocolate with subtle notes of coconut and juicy apricot. This combination makes it an ideal choice not only for fans of classic flavor profiles but also for those seeking more in their espresso – depth, harmony, and a touch of the exotic. The coffee is roasted with a focus on perfect espresso extraction, but thanks to its sweetness and smoothness, you’ll enjoy it guilt-free in milk drinks too.

This coffee is brought to you by the Montero family, with whom Morgon has been collaborating since its very beginnings. Carlos Montero and his family are not only excellent growers but also visionaries constantly exploring new ways to bring exceptional lots to market. Their farm is located in the Tarrazú region, specifically at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level – an ideal elevation for slow cherry ripening and the development of a complex flavor profile. Tarrazú is rightfully considered one of the best regions in Costa Rica for growing specialty coffee, and thanks to the Montero family, that reputation continues to grow.

The Catuai variety used here was processed using the honey method, which has become almost iconic in Costa Rica. After harvesting and carefully selecting ripe cherries, the fruit is pulped, but a portion of the mucilage – the sweet, sticky layer – remains on the bean. This layer ferments during slow drying on African beds, giving the coffee its signature creaminess, roundness, and elevated sweetness. The result is a cup that walks the line between traditional and modern espresso – comforting and familiar, yet with a surprising spark of fruity brightness.
