Costa Rica LAS TORRES from Foundation Coffee roasters welcomes you with the fresh fruitiness of cherries and blueberries, beautifully blended with sweetness and subtle notes of vanilla. This combination creates a smooth and pleasantly juicy profile that is distinctly sweet yet slightly refreshing. The taste offers both a mild acidity and a velvety sweetness that will transport you to a tropical valley full of ripe fruit and flowers. The ideal choice for those looking for a playful and fragrant filter coffee with a complex aftertaste.

The coffee comes from the Chirripó micro-region, located in the southern part of Costa Rica within the Brunca region. This area, named after the indigenous Bruncas people, began growing coffee in the late 19th century, but exports did not take off until the 20th century. The valley between the mountains, enriched by volcanic soil and irrigated by three rivers—Chirripó, de la Sabana, and Grande de Térraba—offers ideal conditions for growing specialty coffee. The plantations are located at an altitude of between 600 and 1,700 meters above sea level, where there is a tropical climate and a specific microclimate between the mountains of Cerro de la Muerte and Costa Rica's highest peak, Cerro Chirripó.

This coffee is processed using the red honey method, in which part of the sweet pulp is left on the beans during drying. This process requires careful moisture control and proper air circulation. The coffee is dried slowly, which contributes to the full body and intense sweetness of the final cup. The red honey method beautifully highlights the fruity notes and adds subtle honey nuances to the flavor, making it a truly exceptional experience.

I absolutely loved this coffee! The notes of sweet cherry, blueberry, and vanilla come through beautifully — super aromatic and well-balanced.
