The People Possession roastery likes to use coffees that have a distinct character and can tell the story of their origin in a cup. Finca Voo Red Catuai from Costa Rica is just such an example. The first sip brings a distinctive sweetness reminiscent of raspberry jam, which gives the coffee a juicy and full base. This is gradually complemented by a fresh herbal note of eucalyptus, which adds an interesting aromatic depth to the overall profile. The finish transforms into a delicately bittersweet citrus marmalade, leaving a long and pleasant aftertaste.

The coffee comes from the Copey area in the Tarrazú region, one of the highest and most respected coffee-growing areas in Costa Rica. Coffee trees grow here at an altitude of 1,960 to 2,000 meters, where the cooler climate slows down the ripening of the cherries and allows for the development of a more complex sweetness and distinctive aromatics. Production is handled by Solis & Cordero, producers who have long focused on careful processing and the quality of individual lots. The combination of high altitude, fertile soil, and the producers' experience results in coffees with a clean profile and distinctive characteristics that stand out beautifully when prepared using a filter.

The coffee cherries processed were of the Red Catuai variety, which is one of the proven and stable varieties grown in Latin America. This variety is prized for its sweetness, balance, and ability to respond well to different processing methods. In this case, the coffee was processed using the natural method with 48 hours of fermentation, during which the coffee cherries remain to ferment after harvesting before drying. This process helps to bring out sweet and fruity notes while adding greater depth and complexity to the coffee. The result is an aromatic and distinctive cup that combines jammy sweetness with light herbal freshness and a long finish.
