Beansmith'sPrague roastery brings you Costa Rica, which smells of sunshine and tastes of joy. In the cup , juicy raspberry, velvety sweet dried fig , and caramel panela blend smoothly , creating a clean, layered profile with pleasant, refined acidity and a long, warm finish. This is a filtered coffee that will wake you up in the morning: the first sip is fresh and clear, the second richer and sweeter, and the third will leave you nodding contentedly. It performs confidently and consistently in a dripper or Chemex, and holds its shape without unnecessary edges in a batch brew.

Behind this lot is the El Aguacate farm and the Marespi family business—the third generation of the Acuña family , which prides itself on full traceability and honest work from the bush to export. We are in the southern Costa Rican region of Brunca, specifically San Carlos, Platanares, Pérez Zeledón ( San José province ), where volcanic soils, constant mountain rainfall, and the cool breath of the Cerro Chirripó massif give the cherries time to slow down and gather sweetness and aroma. At an altitude of 1,890 meters above sea level, this creates a coffee that combines purity and juiciness with a full, soothing body—exactly what makes Beansmith's filters so irresistibly drinkable. Marespi also handles wet and dry grinding and direct export; this integration means consistent quality, but also room for details that separate "good" coffee from the kind you want to come back to. The Red Caturra and Catuaí varieties provide the basis for red fruit and subtle caramel notes, which elevate this coffee to the category of a reliable favorite.

The flavor profile is based on natural processing with slow drying. After selective hand picking, whole, fully ripe cherries are sorted by density and spread on raised beds. This is followed by slow drying for approximately 22 days with regular turning and moisture control to ensure that drying proceeds evenly and without unwanted fermentation. As the pulp dries naturally, it transfers sugars and fruit esters to the beans; the resulting cup has a raspberry juiciness, fig softness, and caramel molasses that hold the profile together and prolong the sweet, clean aftertaste.
