Fruity, elegant, and exceptionally clean— Colombia Medina Espejo from Doubleshot Roasters is a coffee for anyone seeking a complex flavor experience with pronounced sweetness and juicy acidity. The aroma features intertwining notes of vanilla and hibiscus, while the cup is dominated by notes of apricots, wild strawberries, and fresh citrus. It shines best when brewed using a filter, for which this single-origin coffee has been precisely roasted.
Behind this lot are husband and wife Nilson López and Lida Cielo from the San Antonio farm, located in the village of Medina Espejo in Colombia’s Nariño region. They grow coffee here at an elevation of up to 2,100 meters above sea level, where the cool climate allows the coffee cherries to ripen slowly, giving the coffee exceptional sweetness and intensity. In addition to coffee production, Nilson and Lida are actively involved in protecting the native forest, grow other crops for their own self-sufficiency, and regularly share their experiences with neighboring farmers through educational programs organized by the export company InConexus.
This lot consists of the Caturra variety, which is processed using the anaerobic washed method. After careful harvesting, the cherries undergo a 72-hour anaerobic fermentation in plastic barrels, which highlights their juicy and clean flavor profile. Subsequent drying takes place in parabolic dryers, which gives the coffee a balanced structure and a long-lasting flavor profile. The result is an elegant Colombian coffee with a unique character.
