This Colombia from Beansmith.s is a limited edition Christmas Geisha that builds on the clean, elegant profile of the variety. The cup combines apricot, rosehip, meadow honey, and delicate jasmine green tea, which together create a fresh yet warm impression. The pleasant acidity nicely balances the honey sweetness and lighter, tea-like body, giving the coffee an airy yet distinctive character. The cupping score of 88 points confirms that this is a coffee that deserves a place at the holiday table.
Behind this lot is Café Granja La Esperanza, one of the most respected farms in Colombia. The Herrera family began writing their coffee story in the 1940s and gradually built a project that now includes several farms focused on select varieties. This lot comes from the La Esperanza farm in the Trujillo area of Valle del Cauca, where coffee trees grow at an altitude of 1,430–1,760 meters above sea level. The team at Granja La Esperanza has long focused on working with the Geisha variety, and thanks to a combination of experience, research, and precise processing, their coffees are consistently among the most interesting on the market.
Anaerobic Washed processing emphasizes the purity and delicacy of this Geisha. Ripe cherries are first carefully hand-picked and undergo the first stage of anaerobic fermentation in whole fruits, followed by a second fermentation in the pulp. Only then is the coffee washed and dried in a controlled manner in mechanical dryers at low temperatures until it reaches the ideal moisture content. Thanks to this sophisticated process, the coffee produces a very clean cup, a distinctive floral aroma, and a long, honey-like aftertaste that fits beautifully with the winter limited edition.
