Brazil in a cup, just the way we love it – VANESSA MORENO from the roastery Morgon offers a beautifully rounded and balanced espresso experience that will delight both coffee beginners and seasoned lovers of sweet, smooth profiles. The flavor is dominated by notes of dark chocolate, with pleasant hints of hazelnut appearing in the finish. This is a coffee that works perfectly as a straight espresso or a creamy cappuccino – always delivering a comforting and sweet experience that you’ll want to come back to again and again.
The coffee beans come from the farm Fazenda São Felipe, located in the Alta Mogiana region near the town of Franca. The farm has been in the Moreno family for generations, but in recent years it has gained new energy thanks to Vanessa Moreno, who decided to return to her roots – to nature and coffee farming – after years of studying and working in law in the city. Together with her mother, she’s implementing regenerative practices, planting new trees, and working to restore local biodiversity. The two women focus on reforesting areas around springs and waterways, contributing not only to better soil quality but also to the overall health of the farm’s ecosystem. Vanessa says this approach isn’t a marketing move – it’s simply her natural path. She believes this is how the land should be cared for and hopes to inspire other farmers to do the same.
This Catucai variety is naturally processed, a method widely used in Brazil that perfectly highlights the sweetness and body of local coffee. After carefully harvesting ripe cherries, the fruit is dried whole in the sun, allowing sugars from the pulp to slowly absorb into the beans. This process takes place on open patios, where the cherries are regularly turned to ensure even drying. The result is a coffee with a full body, low acidity, and a deep sweet profile. It’s through this attention to detail and respect for nature that a cup is created which carries not only flavor but also the story and values that define Vanessa Moreno’s farm.
