Essencia Blend by Ordinary Coffee is exactly the kind of coffee that wins you over with its subtle yet perfectly balanced flavor. From the very first sip, it feels soft and smooth, as if the flavor were slowly melting on your tongue without any harshness. The dominant note is delicate milk chocolate, which forms the foundation of the entire profile, complemented by sweet notes of caramel and lightly roasted hazelnuts. Gradually, hints of nougat and buttery sweetness emerge in the cup, giving the coffee a sense of fullness and a pleasant “roundness.” Acidity is very low, serving more as a subtle undertone to the overall profile, so nothing is distracting. The texture is silky and creamy, almost as if the coffee had a naturally velvety body that lingers on the palate long after the sip. The aftertaste is sweet, clean, and long-lasting, without any bitter harshness—it’s more reminiscent of the lingering flavor of a chocolate dessert. This is a coffee that isn’t built on extremes or pronounced acidity, but on comfort and tranquility.

Behind this blend is Ocafi —a project that brings together several of its own farms in Brazil, creating a stable and long-term sustainable foundation for the production of high-quality coffee. Essencia Blend is created by combining varieties such as Catuai, Catucaí, Acaia, and Mundo Novo, which complement each other and bring sweetness, body, and a delicate texture to the cup. The coffee comes from regions at an altitude of around 800–1,100 meters, where a warm climate, ample sunshine, and regular rainfall create ideal conditions for the slow ripening of coffee cherries. As a result, the beans have a naturally higher sugar content, which is reflected in their sweet, chocolate-toned flavor profile. The Fazenda Pinheiro farm forms the heart of the entire project. It serves not only as a production base but also as a place for experimentation and quality control. Together with the Matao and Sao Domingos farms, it creates a system where every step from cultivation to processing is fully under control. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, efficient use of water and energy, and long-term soil care.

The processing of the Essencia Blend is based on a combination of traditional methods and modern controls, ensuring a stable and balanced flavor profile in every lot. Harvesting is done by hand, selecting only fully ripe cherries with the highest sugar and aromatic content. The coffee is then processed using the natural method. The cherries are sun-dried on patios, where they are regularly turned to ensure fermentation proceeds evenly and without the risk of overripening or undesirable notes. Initial drying is followed by controlled mechanical drying, which helps precisely adjust the moisture content of the beans and ensure their stability. The coffee then rests in special silos, where“maturation” takes place—the flavors blend, round out, and gain complexity. The entire process is continuously monitored through cupping and laboratory analyses to ensure that each batch meets the required profile. The result is coffee that maintains consistent quality, purity of flavor, and balance.
