This Brazilian coffee from Herz Coffee Roasters is like a warm hug – reliable, yet full of subtle details that you will fall in love with with every sip. In a cup of ground Red Bourbon from the Cerrado region of Minas Gerais, you will find a pleasant combination of forest fruits, hazelnuts, and almonds. The medium roast further enhances the smoothness and balance that make this coffee the ideal companion for waking up in the morning or chilling out in the afternoon. This is not just a classic Brazilian coffee – it is an elegant, carefully balanced beauty with fruity undertones that will keep you entertained.
Behind this coffee is the Godoy Tavares family, who put their whole heart into growing it. Three generations of experience and love for coffee are imprinted in every bean. It all started with grandfather Hélio, originally a civil engineer, who decided to swap the hustle and bustle of the city for the tranquility of the plantation and continue the family tradition. The Fazenda Piedade farm is located in the Alto Paranaíba area, one of the highest points in the Cerrado region. The coffee grows at an altitude of 900–1,050 meters above sea level on a vast area of over 450 hectares, 316 of which are planted with varieties such as Mundo Novo, Catuaí, and our Red Bourbon. And even though the farm is quite large by Brazilian standards, the atmosphere remains family-oriented.
The coffee has undergone dry fermentation, a method that has become increasingly popular in Brazil in recent years. The ripe cherries are first thoroughly sorted and then fermented without water under controlled conditions. This method gives the coffee a juiciness and delicate fruity notes without losing its typical Brazilian sweetness and nutty character. The result is a rich yet very clean flavor profile that will delight both fans of the classics and lovers of unexpected details.
