Nyamasheke Hills is located in the heart of Rwanda's Nyamasheke region , known for its fertile volcanic soil and ideal conditions for growing specialty coffee. The combination of high altitude, rich mineral springs and careful processing at the eponymous washing station gives the coffee an unmistakable flavour profile. It is here that local farmers come together to bring their hand-picked cherries to undergo careful sorting and slow drying on raised African beds. This traditional processing method allows for even fermentation, which further deepens the fruit's sweetness and mild acidity.

The natural, in-kind drying process begins with the careful hand selection of fully ripe cherries, which are then spread out on drying beds and rotated regularly to ensure even drying. This process takes approximately 2-3 weeks, during which time the coffee acquires its characteristic sweetness and distinctive fruity depth. Once the beans have reached optimum moisture, they are stripped of their parchment and carefully sorted by hand to ensure that only the best quality beans make it into the final packaging. Thanks to this precise method, Rwanda NYAMASHEKE HILLS retains its clean, vibrant and balanced flavour profile that will delight any fruit coffee lover.
