There is an unusual story behind the creation of this limited edition – the coffee was created by accident during the production of a standard summer lot. On a hot day, Johan Ekfeldt from Gringo Nordic mixed up two batches – a low-caffeine coffee from Colombia and a selection from Papua New Guinea. After a quick tasting, he discovered that the mix had an unexpectedly balanced and pleasant character – fresh, light, and juicy at the same time. That's how this summer special called "Low Caf Summer Brew" came to be. Despite its low caffeine content, it retains the typical structure and complexity that every lover of filter coffee will appreciate, while offering everyday refreshment on warm days.
The processing of this coffee combines elements of both natural and washed processes. The Castillo and Caturra cherries used come from plantations in Colombia (Nariño) and Papua New Guinea (Jiwaka). Part of the beans underwent dry processing – they were dried directly with the pulp, which gave the cup fullness and a sweet fruity depth. The other part was washed and then dried, which brought fresh, clean tones and a delicate acidity. The resulting blend offers a balanced profile that will captivate you with its flavor while respecting its low caffeine content – a light but flavorful brew, prepared to accompany you through the hot summer without the heaviness of a classic cup.
