Pražírna D stands for decaf invites you to an exceptional experience – Earl Orange decaffeinated coffee, which completely debunks the myth that decaf is a boring choice. The very first sip will envelop you with dark chocolate, juicy orange peel, and subtle tannins reminiscent of black tea. This symphony of flavors is surprisingly complex yet pleasantly balanced, with a light and lively acidity. You wouldn't even know that this coffee is caffeine-free – it has character to spare! It's the perfect choice for moments of tranquility, late afternoons, and evenings when you want to enjoy a cup of great coffee without worrying about sleep.
This decaffeinated beauty comes from the Jimma region in western Ethiopia, specifically from the Telila processing station, run by Mike Mamo – not only a producer, but also a passionate innovator and co-owner of the exporter Osito Coffee. Mike took over the station in 2019 and within a few years has turned it into one of the cleanest and most precisely run places in the entire region. Unlike many other stations, he focuses on dividing the harvest into days (so-called day lots) and devotes maximum care to each batch. His approach is not only about quality but also about impact – for every kilo sold, support goes to a local school in Kecho Anderacha.
And the best part? The coffee is decaffeinated using the gentle Sugar Cane method, which is carried out by the German company Coffein Compagnie. It uses natural ethyl acetate from sugar cane – no additional chemicals. The green coffee beans are steamed, passed through a water bath with EA several times, which binds the caffeine, and then steamed again until clean. The flavor remains untouched – full, fruity, and chocolatey. Together with the washed processing, this creates a cup that is fragrant, clean, and incredibly elegant.
