This Ethiopian coffee from Morgon Coffee Roasters isjuicy, fresh, and distinctly fruity. The first sip reveals red currants —slightly tart, clean, and lively, as if you had picked fresh berries from the garden. Added to this is the taste of homemade lemonade, which gives the coffee a playful freshness and a feeling of summer refreshment. The sweetness is subtle, the acidity clear but not excessive. The espresso is light, energetic, and very clean. The ideal choice for those who like fruity espressos with character and no unnecessary heaviness.

The coffee comes from Ethiopia, from the area around the Chelbesa processing station, which is located at an altitude of around 2,100 meters above sea level. This is where the semi-forest gardens and small plots of local farmers are located, where coffee trees grow in their natural environment. Producers here grow the Dega and Wolisho varieties and place great emphasis on the ripeness of the cherries and careful harvesting. During the harvest, which took place in January 2025, only perfectly ripe, deep red cherries were picked. The entire process at the Chelbesa station is based on consistency, manual sorting, and quality control at every step. The coffee is also certified organic, confirming a respectful approach to the soil and the surrounding nature.

Processing is carried out using a washed method, which brings out the purity and freshness of the flavors. After harvesting, the cherries are de-husked, fermented, and then washed several times with clean water. The coffee is then dried until it reaches the ideal moisture content. This processing method promotes a bright fruitiness, clear flavor lines, and a light body. The combination of high altitude, careful sorting, and the washed process results in an espresso that is precise, fresh, and incredibly drinkable.
