Spring may taste different than you expect. EASTER FILTER BLEND,a limited edition from London roaster Square Mile, combines Rwanda and Papua New Guinea in a cup that is delicate, sweet, and florally elegant. In the filter , you'll find juicy pear, a touch of white grape, and buttery toffee, all wrapped in a soft nougat tone. The light roast brings out the purity and complexity, with no heaviness, just joy and lightness that will awaken your senses. If you don't want this Easter limited edition to slip through your fingers, pay attention. This is a blend that comes back only once a year and disappears faster than you can fill your dripper.
Rwanda brings to the blend the Cyato Mutongo lot from the Nyamasheke region, processed at the Cyato station under the leadership of Christophe and Divine Rugira. Farmers from Mutongo Hill, associated with the Abadatezuka cooperative, grow mainly the Bourbon variety here, and their washed lot is known for its elegance and delicate floral notes. The other half is Elimbari from Simbu Province in Papua New Guinea, coffee from the exporter Kongo Coffee Ltd, led by Jerry Kapka. The beans come from small farmers around the imposing Mt. Elimbari and represent the best selection of local production. The combination of two terroirs, two communities , and two approaches creates a harmony that makes sense in every sip.
Both components are processed using the washed method, which involves thorough removal of the pulp, fermentation in water, and subsequent washing before drying. This process emphasizes purity, bright acidity, and precise aromatics. In the case of the Rwandan part, this brings out the pear freshness and delicate flowers, while the Papuan component brings a creamier texture and sweet nougat finish. The result is a balanced, transparent cup that you will love with every pour.
