Fancy a juicy espresso full of fruity notes? Then you don't have to go far for your coffee, because German roaster Father Carpenter has Colombia RICARDO SILVA up its sleeve . In an espresso, you can enjoy the perfect combination of citrus acidity and sugar cane sweetness. The juiciness is then enhanced by notes of orchard fruit. It's like being in your grandmother's garden, breathing in the scent of ripe apples, pears, and apricots. That's how we imagine espresso from Colombia RICARDO SILVA.
This coffee comes from the Huila region in western Colombia. You have probably already encountered coffee from this region, as it is one of the most important and respected coffee-growing areas in the country. This coffee is produced by farmer Ricardo Silva, who specializes in the Pink Bourbon variety . It has gained popularity thanks to its delicate acidity and complex flavor profile. Father Carpenter is one of the first roasters to introduce Silva's coffee. The Huila region itself offers ideal conditions for growing coffee: high altitude, volcanic soil, and even rainfall. Coffee is harvested twice a year here—during the secondary harvest from April to July and the main harvest from September to December.
The washed method gives the coffee its pleasant acidity and lightness . In this processing method, the coffee cherries are first peeled and then immersed in water tanks where fermentation takes place. The coffee beans are then dried either on raised African beds or on concrete slabs. Coffee processed in this way is characterized by a clean flavor profile with distinct fruity notes.
