Summer is approaching, and with it comes the desire for coffee that can really refresh you on hot summer days. So reach for Burundi NINGA from the Finnish roaster Good Life Coffee. In a cup of this coffee, you can enjoy juicy tropical fruits and the fresh acidity of citrus. This perfectly balanced cup full of exotic fruit tones is as light as a summer breeze and as clean as the air after a summer shower.

This coffee comes from the Ninga hills in the Muramvya province of Burundi, where 764 small farmers are involved in its cultivation. The coffee cherries are harvested and processed at the Bukeye station , which is operated by Long Miles Coffee. It was founded in 2013 with the aim of improving the quality of Burundian coffee and supporting local farmers through fairer and more sustainable practices. It works with more than 5,000 farmers and also employs "Coffee Scouts." For example, coffee scout Sakub in Ninga helps farmers improve their cultivation methods and maximize the potential of their farms and local climate conditions.

Burundi NINGA has undergone a washed processing method. This means that after harvesting, the coffee cherries are brought to a washing station where they are sorted, pulped, and fermented for 12 hours. They are then washed, sorted by density, and soaked. This is followed by preliminary and final drying, which lasts 16–20 days until the coffee reaches the desired moisture content of 10.5%. A cup of coffee processed in this way is light, clean, with distinctive fruity notes and pleasant acidity. Truly an ideal summer companion.
