Burundi Masha, from the Czech roasteryThe Naughty Dog, is a coffee that will immediately capture the attention of lovers of complex cups. The flavor combines a pleasant higher acidity with fruity notes of citrus and yellow fruits, complemented by sweet caramel and slightly tart red currants. A subtle hint of black tea beautifully rounds off the whole experience and gives the cup an elegant and sophisticated structure. This coffee is roasted for filter brewing, so all the nuances and subtle contrasts stand out in the cup, making it ideal for a slow morning or afternoon with a book or friends.
The coffee comes from the Kayanza region, which is known for its high altitude and ideal conditions for growing Red Bourbon coffee trees. The Masha processing station, where the coffee is processed, pays attention to every step, from harvesting perfectly ripe cherries to checking fermentation and drying.
The washed method preserves the purity of flavors and allows all the subtle nuances of the terroir to be expressed in the cup. After removing the skin, the beans ferment in controlled tanks, then are carefully washed and dried on raised African beds to dry evenly and preserve the fruity component and subtle sweet tones. Burundi Masha is a beautiful example of the precise work of farmers and processors in Kayanza and how washed processing can bring out all the subtle nuances of the coffee bean. Each sip is a story of soil, altitude, care, and passion, which is reflected in the cup in a delicately fruity, sweet caramel, and elegant profile.
