SOLO Brewing is a Portuguese specialty coffee roaster and coffee lab located in the lively Saldanha district of Lisbon. Their goal is not only to roast and prepare great coffee, but to create a place where exceptional flavor profiles are combined with warm hospitality. They believe that coffee is much more than just a morning pick-me-up; it is a complex experience and a unique tool that can connect people and different cultures.

The story of the roastery began in 2021, when founder Adroaldo opened his first shop in the Brazilian city of Recife in the state of Pernambuco. His passion for coffee beans and desire to share his enthusiasm beyond borders brought him to Europe in the spring of 2023. The move to Portugal was a big challenge for the whole team, but they took the most important thing with them—their Brazilian openness. They pride themselves on their personal approach and relationship building, and they like to say that at SOLO , customers quickly become friends.

At the roastery, they focus on carefully selecting beans and experimental processing methods. Their mission is to playfully connect Brazilian and Portuguese coffee cultures. They often refer to this approach as their own "reverse colonization," where imaginary ships from Pernambuco bring the best coffee treasures to Portugal. They also place great emphasis on sustainability and community. That's why they package their premium coffee in reusable cans and, as part of the "Back to SOLO" initiative, reward customers with a free espresso for every silicone lid they return, so that together they can minimize waste.

Their efforts, creativity, and attention to detail have not gone unnoticed in the coffee world. They are the proud recipients of a prestigious design award from the global Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) for their unique "Pastel de Nata" coffee concept. They recently confirmed their exceptional position on the Portuguese coffee scene at the Porto Coffee Week festival, where they won the Coffee Market Awards for Best Coffee Roaster 2025. They achieved this huge victory twice – receiving awards from both the expert technical jury and the fans themselves.
