Great coffee is no accident

LOT Roastery is a Slovak specialty coffee roaster founded in Bratislava. It also operates its own café on Špitálska Street, where you can enjoy its coffees as espresso, cappuccino, or pour-over. The roastery works with specialty beans from various parts of the world and focuses primarily on lighter roasts, which allow the beans’ original character to shine through.

From Curiosity to a Roastery of His Own

Behind the roastery is Lukáš Lot, whom the coffee community may also know as Lukáš Záhradník. His journey into coffee began long before he launched LOT Roastery’s first roaster. He was fascinated by how many different flavors could be extracted from a single coffee bean, and it was this curiosity that led him to the World AeroPress Championship in Seattle, USA, in 2015. He later applied the experience gained during hundreds of hours of testing to the roasting process. Together with his team, he now prepares individual batches in Bratislava with an emphasis on precision, hard work, and attention to every detail.

Specialty Coffee as an Everyday Joy

LOT Roastery’s goal is to show that specialty coffee doesn’t have to be rocket science, but above all, an everyday joy. When roasting, the team seeks a profile that brings out the natural flavors of specific beans and delivers a balanced result. The selection therefore includes sweeter coffees with chocolate and nutty notes, as well as distinctly fruity, experimentally processed, or exclusive micro-lots. Individual coffees are designed for pour-over, modern espresso, cold brew, and relaxed everyday enjoyment. The roastery also emphasizes freshness and the clear origin of the beans.

Gold from the World Championship

LOT Roastery’s greatest competitive achievement is the AeroPress World Champion title, which Lukáš won in 2015. Competing against top baristas, he prepared the winning cup using the inverted method, with 20 grams of coffee and water at 79 °C. This award became an important foundation for the roastery’s future work; to this day, it draws on the experience gained at the World Championship in its precise approach to both coffee preparation and roasting.
