The limited edition Swedish Christmas coffee - Julkaffe from the Swedish roaster Gringo Nordic is back, and this year's 2025 edition once again delivers everything we expect from a cup of Christmas coffee. Julkaffe comes with a warm, sweetly spiced profile that will delight all lovers of the festive atmosphere, whether in a filter or French press. You can look forward to distinctive notes of dark chocolate, caramel, baked apple, and delicate Christmas spices, which create a full and rounded cup. Thanks to its medium to dark roast, this coffee is also ideal for those looking for a richer body and milder acidity—simply a coffee that warms the body and soul.

This aromatic blend combines four origins – each component contributing to the exceptional balance of flavors. Brazil Irmãs Pereira Yellow Bourbon forms the base with its delicate sweetness and nutty body, Kenyan coffee from the Nyeri Hill and Kahindu Wangu regions adds juiciness and complexity, while coffee from Colombia's Finca La Sierra brings elegant fruity notes. The final component is the darker and earthier Sumatra Blue Batak, which grounds the entire flavor profile and brings typical spiciness and depth. The result is an exceptionally balanced coffee that tastes exactly how we imagine the perfect Swedish Christmas coffee should taste.

All components of the blend have been processed with an emphasis on purity and distinctive character – from washed Kenyan and Colombian coffee to semi-washed Brazil Yellow Bourbon to traditionally dry-processed coffee from Sumatra, Indonesia. This combination ensures a rich flavor profile and a long finish that lingers in the cup. The coffee was roasted on the most energy-efficient machine in the world and is ready to bring you joy throughout December (and maybe even a little longer).

I like coffee, it doesn't make me happy, but I like it.

This coffee is much better for me when it's cold, impossible to drink warm/hot, but once it's cold it tastes much better, choco, cinnamon and other "Christmas" flavours will appear.

Neither offensive nor inspiring
The only distinct flavor I could detect was overroasted chocolate.

Retro coffee - evokes nostalgia for times long past
I drink it purely for nostalgic reasons—it's not experimental, distinctive, thrilling, or even provocative in any way—but it's usually good when it's cold and dark outside. It doesn't stand out from the crowd, but it will appeal to non-coffee lovers and help coffee lovers pleasantly restart their taste buds as part of an experimental journey.
I don't think it's suitable for cold brew due to its character.
A Christmas classic, goes well with gingerbread and cookies :-)
