The Rwanda GISANDANATURAL coffee from the Slovak roastery Coffeein is sweet, juicy, and delightfully playful. The first thing that surprises you in the cup is the distinct sweetness of yellow melon, which comes across as delicate and refreshing. This is gradually joined by ripe peaches and notes of dried fruit, which give the coffee depth and a slightly syrupy character. The body is medium-full, more tea-like, so the coffee feels light yet sufficiently structured. The aftertaste reveals a subtle bitterness reminiscent of oolong tea and caramelized sugar, which pleasantly rounds out the entire profile. The result is a balanced and sweet cup with a fruity character that will delight you with its purity and complexity.

Behind this coffee stands not a single producer, but an entire community of approximately 850 small farmers united in the Koakambu cooperative in the Ruhango region. Each of them farms a small plot with a few hundred coffee trees, but together they create a production that makes a real impact. The cherries are processed at the Gisanga station, which operates under the management of Tropic Coffee and has been building long-term relationships with local growers. Thanks to this, farmers have guaranteed sales, while the quality of production and conditions in the region are improving. This collaboration creates a stable and transparent system that produces coffees with character and a story.

Processing is done using the natural method, which is less common in Rwanda but all the more interesting for it. After being hand-harvested, the whole coffee cherries are sun-dried, allowing the beans to retain more sweetness and develop a more pronounced fruity profile. Drying takes place slowly and under careful supervision to ensure uniformity and quality. This process gives the coffee its typical body, sweetness, and notes of dried and tropical fruits. Thanks to the light roast, its natural character, juiciness, and clarity shine through in the cup.
