This coffee isn't just about taste - it's also a story of strength, care and community. Kaizen Coffee' s Rwanda Gicumbi Bukure is a light roasted Arabica selection designed for filter methods such as V60, Chemex and AeroPress. It comes from the Gicumbi-Bukure region and has been processed using the fully washed method, which gives it a beautiful purity and elegance in flavour. Look forward to juicy raspberries, refreshing oranges and a delicate hibiscus finish - this cup literally glows with fruity freshness with floral undertones.

This coffee is the brainchild of the Dukorere Kawa Bukure Women's Cooperative, a women's farming cooperative based in the highlands of Rwanda at an altitude of 180 0-2200m. The specific terroir - rich volcanic soil, clean air and an ideal climate - creates the perfect conditions for growing the Red Bourbon variety . Each coffee cherry is harvested by hand and only when fully ripe, ensuring the high quality of the resulting beans. But that's not all - the majority of the cooperative's members are women, who, thanks to their collaboration with Nova Coffee Roasters, not only participate in coffee growing, but also gain access to education, development and a decent livelihood.

The coffee is processed with a focus on quality and sustainability. After harvesting , they are de-pulped, fermented, washed and finally dried on African raised tables. This traditional method, combined with Nova Coffee's modern practices, allows for the development of a subtle acidity, rich aroma and silky clean flavor profile. What's more, the coffee is Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified, so you can be assured that fair conditions, respect for nature and the powerful story of the women who lovingly grew it are behind every sip.

  • Altitude: 1800 - 2200 m above sea level.
