You can't go wrong with a quality espresso every day. This natural Peru from Dos Mundos roasters will happily become your morning companion with its notes of dried apple, cocoa nibs, and blackberry jam. These beans are also perfect for making milk drinks.

The Jaénregion in northern Peru is a beautiful example of how the local coffee industry is transforming from a former emphasis on volume to a genuine focus on quality. Farmers here grow select Arabica beans at high altitudes, and the volcanic soil, tropical climate, and ideal conditions in the Andes produce coffee with a unique flavor profile. Farmers bring ripe coffee cherries from their daily harvests to a warehouse in Jaén, where a rigorous quality control process begins . The coffee is first weighed and undergoes a careful physical analysis to detect any defects. Small samples are then roasted and three members of the import team evaluate the flavor and aroma during cupping. Based on the score achieved and the physical quality of the beans, the farmer receives a price offer. If accepted, the coffee is repackaged in special GrainPro bags, which help preserve its freshness and quality until further processing.

This particular coffee undergoes a so-called natural (dry) processing – ripe cherries are dried on raised beds for up to 30 days to concentrate their natural sweetness and fruity notes. The result is a coffee with a delicate sweetness, juicy flavor, and a chocolate finish – in short, a liquid dessert!
