Mazelab brings another micro-lot from Panama, Alto Bambito #1304, which confirms why Panamanian Geishas have long been considered the best in the world. This special release from the Volcán region offers an exceptionally clean yet distinctly aromatic profile. The cup is dominated by tropical fruit and ripe peach, complemented by the delicate sweetness of citrus and an elegant floral note of orange blossom. The overall impression is sweet, bright, and layered, with a precise structure and a long, harmonious finish. The coffee is very refined, yet lively, exactly as you would expect from a top-quality Geisha.
The producer is Leslie Arturo Guerra, who farms in the high altitudes of the Volcán region at an altitude of around 1,830 meters above sea level. This area at the foot of the Barú volcano is known for its specific microclimate, significant temperature differences between day and night, and mineral-rich soils. It is the combination of high altitude and stable climate that allows the cherries to ripen slowly, which is reflected in the greater complexity and aromatic intensity of the resulting cup. Leslie Guerra is one of those producers who emphasize the precise selection of ripe cherries and detailed control of each step of processing.
Lot #1304 was processed using the honey method, in which part of the sweet pulp remains on the bean during drying. This process promotes a fuller body and natural sweetness without suppressing the typical elegance and floral notes of the Geisha variety. The result is a coffee that combines the purity of washed profiles with the delicate creaminess and depth of honey processing. Alto Bambito #1304 is a coffee for moments when you want to taste the best of the Panamanian terroir in its concentrated, precise form.
